Yes i know. People like to be over Wes Anderson. And definitely people like to be over Ben Stiller. But amidst Anderson’s borderline ridiculous hyper stylized twee world that drives many people nuts…or they like to fake that it drives them nuts because that is where they are supposed to be at in their lives, this scene in “The Royal Tenenbaums” is still one of the most realistic scenes in film. It tears me apart everytime I watch it and kind of sums up everything. Life is hard. We get beaten down by the hard times we have experienced and get sucked into our daily patterns just pushing ahead so we don’t have to deal with the pain. And we never get to truly resolve the issues we have with people with the giant speeches we wish/hope/imagine should be said. Instead we just hope to have these few moments, where we can stop amongst the wear and tear of life and truly admit what is going on in our hearts. Its been a rough year dad.
I’d add something here, but I have no idea how I’d say it.
